Alexander Forbes Financial Services, one of Botswana’s premier fund managers expressed excitement last week following the announcement that it will have a division responsible for asset consulting.
Alexander Forbes Botswana Group Holdings Chief Executive Officer Paul Masie said despite shortage of skills, the group will forge ahead with its asset consulting division, after four years of preparation.
The division comes at a time when the industry is plagued by a skills shortage, which meant that other projects that Alexander Forbes could roll out are put on hold.
“There are many divisions we can set up in Botswana, but skills shortage remains a challenge”, said Masie. Alexander Forbes came to Botswana 15 years ago and now rakes in about P50 million top-line revenue.
The majority of that revenue however is channelled to the local market and shareholders.
The group is positive about its new addition of Asset Consulting, which is an addition to its risk and insurance and financial services.
