Standard Chartered bank customers will receive generous rewards as the Botswana Stock Exchange listed bank unveils new plans to encourage a culture of saving.
The bank has introduced a four-month savings campaign dubbed ‘Grow your balance and win’ aimed at encouraging individual customers and Small Medium and Micro Entrepreneurs (SMEs) to save.
The campaign will see individuals and SME being rewarded for maintaining a balance of P5 000 and P10 000 respectively.
The bank said the initiative is made to reward customers for their loyalty. SMEs will also be offered support in the form of incentives that can assist in boosting their operations.
The initiative is aimed at “encouraging both individual and SME customers to grow their deposit balances as a first step towards instilling a savings discipline,” said the bank’s Senior Manager CASA and Payments, Monkgogi Mogorosi.
Standard Chartered Bank said its current account is one of the basic deposit products provided to individual customers, which allows them to deposit, withdraw or transfer funds freely.
“For SME customers a current account offers convenience as it caters for day-to-day management of the business for deposits, withdrawals and/or payments,” said Mogorosi.
The campaign, which started in July, is expected to end in October 2010. Each month there will be two winners. The bank has made the prices tempting. One SME and one individual customer will win either a return trip for two to Dubai (including hotel stay and meals and P6000 spending money) or a cash prize of P15 000. The SME and individual client can choose between the two prizes once they win the draw.
For the grand finale draw in November, one SME and one Individual customer will each walk away with an Isuzu KB 240 Double Cab.
The first draw will take place at Game City, August 7 from 1400hrs. Customers will automatically qualify for the monthly draws by maintaining a minimum average balance of P10 000 for SMEs or P5 000 for individual customers per month.
The Botswana Stock Exchange listed bank said every additional balance of P2 000 for SMEs or P1 000 for individual customers will increase the customers’ chances to win.
