Just when the political temperature was building up in Parliament, regrettably the proceedings were adjourned on Tuesday. We hear the legislators suddenly ran out of business to do and surreptitiously sealed off the session.
But this does not stop one from wondering whether the sudden ending of business could not have anything to do with the executive saving itself from embarrassment as opposition, with an increased voice pushed them against the wall. The ruling party, Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has never been this exposed, with some of its members clearly going against party line to embarrass even Vice President Mompati Merafhe.
