Cultural night underway
Fairground Holdings is billed to host the 2010 FOBEX Cultural Night at Ditshupo Hall this Saturday (July 31st). The event aspires to bring together Botswana’s multicultural community by celebrating its music, food and culture. Various international foods including local samples are expected to be on offer as well as exhibitions by over 20 countries. Stampore, Kgotla & Sedibeng Choir are expected to keep audience entertained. Tickets cost P250.


Swedish filmmaker in town
World-renowned National Geographic photographer and filmmaker Mattias Klum is expected to showcase his works at Maitisong from Wednesday. The young global leader for the World Economic Forum and frequent contributor to National Geographic is visiting Botswana for the first time and expected to share his award-winning pieces and experience of documenting some of the world’s vulnerable ecosystems with the youth. The photographer ‘s presentation will continue until Saturday.


Comedy at GSun
David Slater Music in association with Brincat Production is billed to host a night of comedy featuring Aldo Brincat at Gaborone Sun (GSun) today (Friday). Brincat will strut his staff on stage in a rib tickling night out for the whole family. Brincat has been keeping people laughing in the entertainment industry for the past five years and has performed through out South Africa. He is a skilled dancer, magician, circus performer and his past productions include Shut Up and Listen, Stupid Cupid and Those Days are Over. Brincat is expected to treat audiences to a Defending the Cavebrats show.


Shanti rocks ghetto
Afro-pop jazz singer, Tuduetso Loeto, aka Shanti-Lo, is billed to perform at Francistown Club Hall on July 31st. His nine-piece band is expected to sample songs from his soon to be released album titled Lorato. The new offering, is expected to give the best of both of his worlds to satisfy the fans. Shanti-Lo is expected to perform alongside Dave Bestmen and Jazz DJ SK(Duma FM). The event is expected to feature a fireworks display, a golf auction and 20 bikers from Soprano Bikers Club in Pretoria. Entrance is P50.
