| Lots of people are complaining about the way things are done by the civil service, but this one has to take the cake.
I’m talking about the Roads Department, and Molapo Crossing.
Which GENIUS thought up this latest disaster? The road from BTV circle to the “new” traffic lights at Molapo does not incorporate an entrance into Molapo Crossing when you are travelling towards the said lights.
Now, the one question on my mind, is WHY? Does the Roads Department have it in for the owners, landlords, tenants of Molapo?
How exactly do they expect the huge volume of traffic travelling in that direction to access Molapo for that most important activity, their evening grocery shopping?
Under the circumstances to access Molapo Crossing one should drive all the way to the Rainbow school circle and make a u-turn (thus adding major minutes and more petrol). The other options is drive all the way to Grand Palm Hotel and make a u-turn there.
Or would Roads rather we drive to the BKT (Phase 1) lights, turn into BKT, then make a u-turn? Which one appeals to you most?
To me, they are all ludicrous “solutions” and I use the word solutions very lightly with tons of sarcasm.
Is some civil servant sitting in their grey, non-descript office in Broadhurst chuckling to themselves as they sip on Oros and chew on maguinya, saying “ YA! I FIXED THEM!”
Whoever came up with this plan is penalising us citizens, more than the landlords and tenants of Molapo Crossing.
What was the thinking behind all of this?
I fail to understand why a simple break in the island can’t be constructed, to allow traffic to enter Molapo Crossing.
Maybe Roads Department hasn’t thought of it?
As it is, a number of us have already greatly reduced our shopping time at Molapo due to the inconvenience.
Those that are already using the options I referred to above probably pose a serious danger to other drivers.
