It is very pleasing to hear that the Ministry of Education and Skills Development will sponsor all the 4336 students who have been admitted at the University of Botswana (UB) for this academic year, contrary to what they had earlier planned to do. I think it is wise to spend on the education of the youth. This is actually an investment in our future. We need as many skilled youth as possible to drive the economy in various sectors.
The move comes at a time when reports indicate that thousands of Pula had been spent on expensive fridges and other furniture for a selected few in the government enclave.
