Acitizen owned business in Information and Technology (COBIT) will take the media on a tour of Kaudwane Primary School on Friday 6th August 2010 to provide an update on the donations of 10 computers and a printer as well as software to Kaudwane Primary School made during the 2009 World Telecommunications Information Society Day. The donation of a solar panel system will be officially unveiled on the 6th of August 2010. Cabinet ministers, senior government officials and captains of the ICT industry will attend the event.
COBIT has visited the village on several occasions during this year to monitor and provide technical support, and have observed that Kaudwane Primary School has been challenged by the erratic supply of diesel for the generator.
As a result of the challenges of a consistent supply of power at the school, computer studies have had to be suspended, which has negatively impacted the purpose of World Telecommunications Information Society Day, which aim at sensitizing people on information communication and technology (ICT).
COBIT moved swiftly to alleviate the problem and has secured a donation of a solar panel system valued at P270 000 from Solar West (Pty) Ltd which will address the power supply challenges faced at Kaudwane Primary School.
