| It’s so certain that the conduct of our foreign affairs minister leaves too much to be desired.
First and foremost he is almost our PRO to the international world, by virtue of his ministerial portfolio, and it comes almost naturally that his expressions and insinuations about other countries are perceived to be representative of our position as a country.
Not so long ago, he made very unfortunate remarks about SADC, then about Sudan, then about OAU and persistently about the neighboring Zimbabwe, and so on.
What struck most is the fact that most of his publicly expressed opinion is unsolicited, unnecessary and uncalled for, so one wonders why the pressure.
Over the past weekend, he launched public verbal attacks on the former assistant minister of finance, Rre Guma Moyo. Well maybe that’s how politicians handle matters but now to bring Zimbabwe in on the whole issue really shows that there is something terribly wrong with this minister.
It’s not right or necessary at all for him to have labeled Zimbabwe as a disorderly country of lawlessness; it’s dim-witted to say the least.
I am neither a Zimbabwean nor a politician, I am a Motswana who is so concerned about this sort of attitude which will lead us nowhere, and the painful aspect of it is that Batswana are generally resilient people, now to be name damaged by one Motswana will be so unfortunate.
Can all those close to the man counsel him and bring him to order?
